Why Bama will repeat.
The Crimson Tide will always be in the national championship discussion, and they return several key pieces from their title run last season—a deep defensive front anchored by sack master Jonathan Allen (14.5 sacks in 2015), an experienced secondary and several star receivers.
Alabama's season will look a lot like the last one -- the Crimson Tide will struggle at quarterback early, might even lose to Ole Miss again, and then they'll figure it out and start rolling. By the end of the regular season, Alabama's running game will be punishing people and its defense will be stuffing everyone.
Alabama coach Nick Saban will win his fifth national title in 10 years in Tuscaloosa and his sixth overall (he won one at LSU), which will tie him with legendary Tide coach Paul "Bear" Bryant for the most in major college football history. Afterward, Alabama will unveil a statue of Saban's wife, Terry, at Bryant-Denny Stadium at next year's spring game. http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/17243029/alabama-crimson-tide-repeat-other-2016-season-predictions

Pokemon Go security flaw enables hacker to take over gyms in London and New York using eggs
Pokémon Go fans in New York City are reporting that hackers have somehow
exploited a vulnerability in the Niantic Labs' mobile game that is
enabling them to take over geolocated gyms with eggs, when it should not
be possible to do so.
On Sunday (15 August), Reddit user tunneyb started a thread in the Pokémon Go section of the social bookmarking site, complaining that lots of New York City Pokémon gyms were not working and requested Niantic to remove them.
tunneyb took a screenshot showing that the Pokémon gym located at the Josephine Shaw Lowell Memorial Fountain in Byant Park, Manhattan had been affected by the glitch and taken over by an egg with zero combat power, meaning that Pokémon Go players in the area were unable to battle it, since it was an egg, not a Pokémon.
Other users also chimed in, claiming that the same hacker had also hijacked the Pokémon gyms located at the Tao Uptown Asian fusion restaurant at 58th and Madison; the New York Times Building in midtown Manhattan; the New York City Post Office; Madison Square Garden; Time Square and even the Nikola Tesla Plaque at Hotel New Yorker.
The same hacker also had two gyms in London, UK – namely the Buckingham Palace gym and the gym at Big Ben.
"I can't imagine people that are doing this actually like the game. Exploiting this kind of thing only makes it a high priority bug for Niantic, which means they have to divert the programmers to fixing it instead of giving us new features," wrote Reddit user RuponyKenshin.
"At the rate we're going we're not going to get any actual changes to the game for another six months, because all they're doing is putting out the fires."
In the game, augmented reality (AR) and real-world location data enables users to explore their surroundings and capture Pokémon, mysterious animal-like cartoon creatures with special powers.
Markers listed on an augmented reality map of the users' surroundings shows special locations like "PokéStops", where players can find in-game loot like food, potions, eggs and Pokéballs, or gyms, where users battle against Pokémon trainers from opposing teams in order to capture the gym for their side.
The way eggs are supposed to work is that the user collects them from a PokéStop, places the egg in an incubator, and then walks a specific distance, such as 2km, 5km or 10km with the app on in order to track the user's steps.
When the user has walked the required distance, the app then triggers the egg to hatch, and a random Pokémon will pop out of the egg. The objective is to enable players to get a chance to hatch a rare Pokémon, and that is literally all the eggs are meant to do.
IBTimes UK has reported the issue to Niantic Labs and is waiting for a response.
In the meantime, users are advised to go to Settings in the Pokémon Go app and select the option "Report High-Priority Issue", or click here to access Niantic Labs' support website. Once on the website, click "Submit a Request" and then select "Report an issue with a Gym or PokéStop", where you can fill in a web form and attach a screenshot of the egg taking over the gym.

What to do if you spot an egg guarding a gym
Hacking a gym in Pokémon Go literally has no monetary benefit and only serves as a way to irritate and frustrate other players in the game. There is also no means of getting rid of the hacker unless Niantic Labs patches the vulnerability and bans the user from the game completely, although the hacker could easily register a new account using another Google account.IBTimes UK has reported the issue to Niantic Labs and is waiting for a response.

Marlon Humphrey, Maurice Smith trade social media barbs
Specifically Maurice Smith, whose decision to leave the Crimson Tide for Georgia created an unnecessary headache after Nick Saban first restricted his options.
Humphrey spoke out against reserves the program leaving for more playing time elsewhere on Wednesday with what appears to be a tweet directed at Smith:
Smith certainly took it as a personal shot judging by his reaction, and hashtag #NHG, on an Instagram post a few hours later: "When adversity is all you know, fight becomes natural & quitting is not an option! #NHG (NoHandoutsGiven)" original article found here http://alabama.247sports.com/Bolt/Marlon-Humphrey-Maurice-Smith-trade-social-media-barbs-46830174

FSU Student, Suspected to be High on Flakka, Allegedly Ate Victim's Face After Stabbing Him and Wife to Death
A 19-year-old Florida State University fraternity brother allegedly
stabbed a couple to death then tried to eat part of one victim's face –
possibly after taking the synthetic drug Flakka, PEOPLE confirms.
Austin Harrouff, who initially gave police a fake name, allegedly stabbed a married couple to death on Monday and was found trying to bite off chunks of the man's face, Martin County Sheriff William Snyder tells PEOPLE.
"What pushed our Florida State student into this? We do not know," Snyder said at a Tuesday press conference after identifying the man.
Snyder tells PEOPLE that the first deputy arrived at the scene in the driveway of the couple's Tequesta home and "the suspect was on top of our victim, clutching him in a bear hug and biting him in the face."
"[The deputy] shot him with a taser ... that didn't work," he says. "Another deputy got there, two deputies, and they engaged the suspect and they said they used every bit of strength they had."
He added: "It was an impossible task to get him off of the victim. And another officer from a nearby municipality arrived and deployed a dog on him to try to get him off. Then finally, after minutes of fighting, they were able to get the offender off of the victim, but the victim was dead."
The deceased are John Joseph Stevens III, 59, and 53-year-old Michelle Karen Mishcon, who neighbors told PEOPLE were a "loving couple."
Snyder says that Harrouff allegedly attacked the couple as they sat in their "open garage," and called the incident a "random" and "unprovoked" attack. He said deputies found the woman dead in the garage.
Harrouff has been charged with one count of aggravated battery but will be charged with home invasion and two counts of murder. However, Snyder says, there is a chance that Harrouff could die in the hospital as a result of either "sustained trauma" from officers or a drug overdose.
"He's heavily sedated ... last night he was intubated, so he was getting assistance to breathe,' Snyder tells PEOPLE.
He does not have a lawyer and has not entered a plea. Snyder says police have not determined a motive for the attack.
Harrouff was out to dinner with his mother and father at around 8:30 p.m. prior to the attack, but allegedly became upset about the "slow service" and stormed out of the restaurant, Snyder tells PEOPLE. He said at the press conference that this prompted his fraternity brothers to go searching the neighborhood for him.
"He walked from that restaurant and, for reasons we do not know, inexplicably turned down the residential street where our two victims lived," Snyder tells PEOPLE, noting that the couple is known to sit in their garage with the door open at night.
"[He] apparently attacked both of them with a knife that he was known to carry," the sheriff says. "He carries a switchblade. He began stabbing and assaulting both the husband and the wife."
The sheriff said at the press conference that Harrouff was "abnormally strong" during the alleged attack. Harrouff was taken to a hospital where, Snyder said, he made "animal-like" – noises including "grunting" and "growling" – and was somewhat incoherent.
Evidence showed that the male victim tried to fight back, and that multiple weapons were used in the attack, Snyder said.
Snyder said the man suffered an "unusual amount of trauma," suffering stab wounds and blunt force trauma to the body and head.
The incident bears eerie similarity to the gory 2012 case of Rudy Eugene, who bit off parts of a homeless man's face, according to the The Miami Herald. In that case, the victim lived. And while Eugene was first rumored to be on a different drug, bath salts, a blood tests showed he only had marijuana in his system.
Snyder said Monday that police have to wait for completed toxicology reports to determine whether the suspect in Monday's incident was on drugs. But he said he "would not be surprised" if the man was under the influence of flakka – a psychoactive stimulant that has been linked to bizarre behavior and drug overdoses.
"When you see a case like this where someone is biting off pieces of somebody's face, could it be flakka?" Snyder said. "The answer is it absolutely could be a flakka case."
He noted that Harrouff's core body temperature was not elevated like it would have been if flakka was involved. He tells PEOPLE that he exhibited several symptoms evidenced in flakka users, but initial reports found that he was not on cocaine, methamphetamine or marijuana.
Snyder said at the Tuesday press conference that no evidence indicated that the suspect knew the victims.
A neighbor who tried to intervene was stabbed by the suspect as well and was being treated at a hospital Monday night, Snyder said.
An FSU spokesperson confirms that Harrouff was a rising sophomore at the university, majoring in pre-exercise science

Tennessee talent comparable to Alabama, LSU
It’s well-documented that
Tennessee’s recruiting has picked up during coach Butch Jones’ tenure,
but one ESPN analyst went a step further when discussing the Volunteers’
level of talent.
ESPN college football insider Travis Haney appeared on “The Paul Finebaum Show” Wednesday afternoon to discuss a number of SEC topics with guest host Peter Burns. When discussing the Vols, Burns asked Haney how UT’s talent compares to perennial conference powers Alabama and LSU.
“I’d put them in the same breath,” Haney said. “That’s really the illustration of what Butch Jones has done at Tennessee. Look at the talent they had three-to-four years ago when he got there. It was abysmal on both lines of scrimmage. The offensive and defensive lines were horrific. They were closer at that point to the bottom of the league than the top of the league. Now, they’re in the same conversation as LSU and Alabama.”
Haney visited Tennessee’s media day and described the general vibe surrounding Team 120.
“There’s this nervous energy about what it’s going to look like, what it’s going to be,” Haney said.
The ESPN analyst said that with the level of talent, there’s no excuses this season for the offense to not establish a pass-catching threat on the exterior. His man to watch is sophomore Preston Williams.
“Another guy on my breakout list: Preston Williams,” Haney said. “That’s someone to watch – 6’5 receiver, who came in late last year, he didn’t get there until August. He came along slow. As a freshman, not much expected from him. As a sophomore? Totally different.”
Williams and the Volunteers open the 2016 season Sept. 1 against Appalachian State.
